Webinar Series 9 – Towards Strengthening Local Humanitarian Action

Webinar 9 Flyer

COVID-19 has instilled a renewed sense of urgency in the need to support local and national actors. This was evident during the recent Tropical Cyclones and with travel restrictions and border closures across all Pacific countries, local communities and national governments relied on their own capacities.

This phenomenon speaks to the localisation vision of “as local as possible, as international as necessary” which has been widely adapted by the global humanitarian community. This webinar looked at the challenges faced at the national and community level towards strengthening local and humanitarian actions and discussed the outcomes of the localisation mapping exercise carried out by the Technical Working Group on Localisation. Below is a recording from this Webinar.
